Default Additional weapon customizations

First of all, I wish to express an observation I have made with regard to the weapon customization aspect of Guild Wars: The ability to 'customize' weapons to provide a +20% damage enhancement is of great benefit to players that rely on their weapons as their main source of damage. However, players that rely on skills almost exclusively as their main source of damage or who's role does not focus on causing damage, the benefit is less. Of course, the flip side is that if those players wishes to not customize their weapon in order to sell it later have less to loose.

As a result, whether or not this is an issue to an individual depends on their character and their goals: how much their character relies on their weapon to deal damage and whether or not they may wish to sell their weapon in future. While it is per se balanced in the game's current state, because customized and non-customized weapons each have their own advantage and disadvantage, in certain circumstances, some players may not be able to benefit from either advantage of a customized or non-customized weapon. For example, a healer Monk who has the best weapon for their build would neither wish to sell it or need the +20% damage.

My suggestion that would overcome this and make weapons more flexible and interesting is this: Additional weapon customizations, which players can choose from a list that each provide different benefits to the weapon's stats. Of course, only one customization can be active at a time, however whether the customization can be changed on a weapon is a query I pose. I don't have any solid ideas on the kinds of stat boosts that would be ideal, but certainly ones that would benefit skill casters, perhaps small energy increases or skill cast/recharge time reduction. Also, probably not too many different ones; no more than 6 in my mind.

I will admit, I am not certain how well this would work, particularly with regard to existing weapon modifications. Likewise, as I am sure I've implied, this isn't a gripe - I don't think there is anything significantly wrong with this aspect of the game as it is. This is more of an idea for the sake of it, driven by a moderate motivation of diversifying the game and making it more interesting, rather than a strong motivation to get some done about problem I have with the game. Most of all, I hope my idea promotes an interesting discussion
